Gold Coast Golf Club Notes 11th November 2019

John White Carpentry Winter League:

224 games played so far during the 1st two weeks. Let’s hope the weather plays ball and the high turnout can continue. All the Captains will be hoping that their teams get in as many games as possible early in the league just in case the weather turns nasty. Thanks to our Captain, John White, for so generously sponsoring the league again this year. All the individual scores for the league can be found on the Gold Coast Golf Club website, and are updated weekly.

The AGM of the Men’s Club took place last week and was well attended. Both outgoing Captain, Pat Power and Secretary Johnny Hughes reported on a very successful year, a year in which many new initiatives took place and all worked well. There was a lot of discussion on many aspects of the Club and this was followed by the election of Officers for 2020. The following Officers were elected:

Captain John White President Brian Dunbar Vice Captain Seamus O Connell Vice President Willie Bloomer Secretary Johnny Hughes, Competition Secretary Tom White Handicap Secretary Micheál White PRO Willie Bloomer Communications Officer Tom White Ex Officio Pat Power Ex Officio Michael Wall Committee Brian Fahey, Kiki Cullinan, Ger Bagge,  Jimmy O Dwyer, Tim O Driscoll, Nicholas Power.
