LADIES OPEN EVENING

We had a great response to our Open Event with the ladies in awe of the spectacular scenery out by the Lighthouse. The weather conditions were perfect in showcasing the course with the sun beaming across the fairways against the backdrop of the clear blue ocean.

After playing a few holes with the ladies and ferrying them around the course in buggies, the end result was very positive. We hope they will take advantage of our facilities and we would be delighted to welcome them on board as new members.

GOLD COASTERS

A group of our ladies took to the fairways on Thursday in glorious sunshine and the results reflected the returned scores. As per usual, Anne had secured some beautiful prizes and Rena and Deirdre went home very happy!!

Special thanks go to the Fixtures Committee, the Winter League Organising Committee, the Winter League Subcommittee, the kiosk staff for providing weekly score updates, the greenkeeping team for maintaining the course throughout the winter months, the hotel staff and of course our wonderful members who make the Gold Coast such an enjoyable place to play golf.

TABLE QUIZ
Our table quiz hosted by the ladies club last Friday with the legendary Bob as quizmaster was a resounding success with a packed function room. We had a great gathering of golfers, non golfers and especially our men’s club who came out in force to support our cause!!
Bob got the show on the road with his flurry of cryptic questions which got everyone thinking outside the box. The music questions resulted in some excellent choral work and some dancing displays of Strictly and non Strictly variations – brilliant!!
Spot prizes were given out at random for best singing and dancing spectacles, which were hilarious, all spot prizes were donated by members. The raffle took place before the results were announced with some superb prizes on offer, again all were donated.
The highlight of the night was the auction of a Fourball to a very prestigious Golf Resort kindly sponsored by a very generous member. Bob got into his auctioneering mode and secured a very healthy €700 from a group of our men who were delighted to avail of the prize!!
Congratulations to John Fennell and family who were the winners on the night with a great score of 76pts and to Michael Fitzgerald and family who took 2nd place with a score of 73pts.
Beautiful finger food was served during the quiz and a big thank you to Sean, Helen and staff for providing the very tasty treat, it was much appreciated!
Our Lady Captain Elaine thanked everyone and spoke of her gratitude to all who turned up to support the quiz and for the donation of all the prizes on the night with a special Thank You to the men’s club for all their support and generous donation!!
There aren’t many words to describe Bob but I think GEM might be very appropriate. He did his usual remarkable job and kept the fun and games going all night!! Bob had the honour of announcing the total intake for the night which left Elaine speechless, a whopping €1,850. Thank You Everyone!!
