JUNIOR CUP

Our Junior Cup team travelled to Cahir Park Golf Club last Saturday to take on the home team on a miserable damp day.  It was like a day in October not June.  Our lads put on a great display of golf but in the end the home team came out on top. We want to thank Manager Neill Dermody and his team Darren Williams, Kevin Walsh, Martin Morris, John White and Colin McArthur.  Also to the caddies on the day Martin Murray, John Lynch snr and Micheal Kavanagh and to the supporters who made the journey, thank you all and best of luck to Cahir in the next round.

BARTON SHIELD

This competition also took place in Cahir Park Golf Club on Saturday under the watchful eye of team Captains Matin Morris and Micheal Wall.  After a tough match the home team were declared the winners.  Best of luck to Cahir as they progress to the next round. INTER-CLUB MEN’S JUNIOR CUP AND BARTON SHIELD

Our boys were away to Cahir Park on Saturday to take on the home team. Both teams played great golf in very unseasonal conditions with strong winds and heavy squally showers. Their opponents in both matches were unyielding and unfortunately they lost to a very strong side.

Thanks a mill to our L. Capt. Elaine for her stunning on-course commentary, kept us all riveted with each impending text.  Well done to all involved on the day and wishing Cahir Park the very best for their next leg.

CARTON CUP

Our Carton Cup team under the management of Breda and Anne are will be away to Castlecomer GC on Sun 7th July for their next leg of the tournament. To date, they have excelled themselves in going to playoffs on each occasion and clinching a win for the home team. Well done girls!!! Support on the day would be appreciated!

We wish them and their Managers Bridge and Alice the very best of luck on the day!!. Any support on the day will be greatly appreciated!!

GOLD COASTERS

Our little group went on another day trip on Wed 26th to the Japanese Gardens in Tramore in beautiful sunny conditions. On arrival we had our coffee and cake followed by a tour of the magnificent gardens.

The gardens are a must see with stunning horticultural projects amongst Japanese structures, waterfalls and ponds. The history of the gardens is phenomenal with connections between Tramore and Japan.

After our tour, we sojourned to a nearby hotel for a delicious lunch on the terrace in glorious sunshine. It was a beautiful day out and many thanks to Anne for organising yet another fabulous event. Many thanks to Deirdre who surpassed herself again with some stunning photographic memoirs of the day.

On Thursday, we had our usual competition playing 9 holes in fine but somewhat strong blustery conditions. We had a nice turnout and Deirdre took on the running of the event in Anne’s absence.  Despite the wind we had some very healthy score returns and it was enjoyed by all.

RESULTS

2nd Ellen Foley 20pts

3rd Bernie Morrissey 19pts
