It is for members of the Goldcoast only and special invited guests. The cost of entry is €50 per person, payable to the kiosk in advance, and from this entry fee a very large amount will go to purchasing equipment for the Palliative Care Unit in Dungarvan Community Hospital. This is one of the best days of the year in the Goldcoast and one of the most enjoyable golfing days of the year.

Our Junior Cup team travelled to Cahir Park Golf Club last Saturday to take on the home team on a miserable damp day.  It was like a day in October not June.  Our lads put on a great display of golf but in the end the home team came out on top. We want to thank Manager Neill Dermody and his team Darren Williams, Kevin Walsh, Martin Morris, John White and Colin McArthur.  Also to the caddies on the day Martin Murray, John Lynch snr and Micheal Kavanagh and to the supporters who made the journey, thank you all and best of luck to Cahir in the next round.

This competition also took place in Cahir Park Golf Club on Saturday under the watchful eye of team Captains Matin Morris and Micheal Wall.  After a tough match the home team were declared the winners.  Best of luck to Cahir as they progress to the next round. Thanks to our panel Neil Dermody and David O’Connor and Brian McGill and Ivan O’Connor and to all that travelled to support the team.

This Sunday 7th July we will be the start our Monthly medal season.  It is a golfer of the year competition, stroke off the blue tees.

A Handicap review is taking place now and will continue for several weeks.

A reminder to all Committee members that a meeting will take place on Wednesday night next in the Hotel at 8pm

Please remember to repair all divots on the fairways and pitch marks on the greens to keep our course in great condition. Please check with kiosk regarding current conditions of play.

We ask members and visitors alike to please adhere to our club dress code. If unsure please consult with the kiosk staff.

The notes that go out each week on the paper and on the Clubs Social Media page are for all the members of the club. If there is something you wish to be included in the notes, please contact Irene or Brian in the kiosk or the P.R.O. on 083 4862771.

Our ladies under the management of Anne and Breda V. will be playing their first match in Tramore on Tuesday 2nd July.

They will be lining up in 3Balls with Wat/Castle and Slievenamon as 12 teams take to the fairways in the 9 Hole East Qualifier. Wishing them all the very best of luck on the day and support would be appreciated

Our boys were away to Cahir Park on Saturday to take on the home team. Both teams played great golf in very unseasonal conditions with strong winds and heavy squally showers. Their opponents in both matches were unyielding and unfortunately they lost to a very strong side.

Thanks a mill to our L. Capt. Elaine for her stunning on-course commentary, kept us all riveted with each impending text.  Well done to all involved on the day and wishing Cahir Park the very best for their next leg.

Our Carton Cup team under the management of Breda and Anne are will be away to Castlecomer GC on Sun 7th July for their next leg of the tournament. To date, they have excelled themselves in going to playoffs on each occasion and clinching a win for the home team. Well done girls!!! Support on the day would be appreciated!

Our girls are now through to the Regional semi-final which will be played in Cork GC on Sat 13th July. Our team consists of Irene/Mary K, Aisling/Rosie, Fiona/Karen and subs Esther/Miriam.  They will be meeting Mallow on Sat and if they qualify will go on to play on Sun 14th. We wish them and their Managers Bridge and Alice the very best of luck on the day!!. Any support on the day will be greatly appreciated!!

Our little group went on another day trip on Wed 26th to the Japanese Gardens in Tramore in beautiful sunny conditions. On arrival we had our coffee and cake followed by a tour of the magnificent gardens.

The gardens are a must see with stunning horticultural projects amongst Japanese structures, waterfalls and ponds. The history of the gardens is phenomenal with connections between Tramore and Japan.

After our tour, we sojourned to a nearby hotel for a delicious lunch on the terrace in glorious sunshine. It was a beautiful day out and many thanks to Anne for organising yet another fabulous event. Many thanks to Deirdre who surpassed herself again with some stunning photographic memoirs of the day.

On Thursday, we had our usual competition playing 9 holes in fine but somewhat strong blustery conditions. We had a nice turnout and Deirdre took on the running of the event in Anne’s absence.  Despite the wind we had some very healthy score returns and it was enjoyed by all.

1st Mary Dunbar 21pts

2nd Ellen Foley 20pts

3rd Bernie Morrissey 19pts
