CARTON CUP
Our team who were away to Williamstown did a magnificent job in fending off a strong opposition. First home was Aine 4/3, next home was Caroline 2/1 and Emma took her lady on the ninth clinching a win for the home team.
The second leg was the return visit to our home club, which took place on Sunday 9th June. Another thrilling match ensued in very cold and blustery conditions.
First to romp home was Mary Fennell 5/4 and next in was Mary French 4/3, the final went to a playoff with Aine taking to the fairways again and clinching a win for home club on the 2nd playoff hole. This is Aine’s second time securing a win on a playoff and I think she should be commended for doing so, well done Aine, you’re a star!
Congratulations to team managers Breda V, Anne, players and caddies on a wonderful result.
INTER CLUB SENIOR FOURSOMES
Our girls travelled to Tipperary on Sunday 9th to take on their home team. Our team consisted of Irene/Mary K, Aisling/Rosie, Fiona/Karen and subs Esther/Miriam.
Our girls put up a brilliant battle against a very strong Tipp side to secure victory. First to win on the 18th was Fiona/Karen, second in off the 19th was Aisling/Rosie and Irene/Mary K took their ladies to the 17th which was a spectacular result for all of them.
Congratulations to the Managers Bridge and Alice and to the wonderful team for a magnificent result, we are very proud of you. A great day for the Goldcoast with two wins for the ladies!!
