Goldcoast Golf Club Notes 8th May 2022

Plenty of on-going work continuing on the course with grass cutting around trees and planting of new trees, please be mindful when taking a shot near these not to damage them.  We must also continue to repair divots and pitch marks. We are receiving great feedback from visitors on how well the course is being kept and how it is playing which is great to hear.

Congratulations to Captains Bob and Liam and their team members who had a great victory over Tramore last Monday night with some great golf been played next up is a match against Youghal Golf Club date to be announced soon.

Sunday May 15th, Monthly Medal Blue Tees and Stroke. Golfer of the Year competition.

We offer our heartfelt Condolences to Dave O’ Connor on the sad passing of his sister Theresa whose death occurred last week may God have mercy on her gentle soul rip.

The following may be of interest to anyone who may be open to giving a few hours every now and then to assist with Juvenile Golf at the Gold Coast.

On Monday 23rd of May at 6pm Jennifer Hickey (Club Support Officer with Golf Ireland Southern Region) will come to the Gold Coast for a two hour practical session with those who may be interested in doing some work with Juveniles. The session will focus on skills and warm-up activities that will help junior golfers achieve their full potential. Participants will need to bring a pitching wedge and a putter to the session. This is really quite easy and a lot of fun and may even give you ideas on how to improve your own golf too.

If any of you are interested in this session (which is highly recommended), you can send Frank Muvihill President Gold Coast Golf Club your expression of interest by email to or send a text to 086-2323940.

Annual Subscriptions are now due, thank you to members who have already paid.
