WEEKLY GOLF NOTES
The golf notes that go out every week on the papers and online are for all members of the Club. If you have anything that you want shared on the notes, please contact me on 083 4862771 or Irene or Brian at the kiosk on 058 44055.

Our dress code for the Goldcoast is slacks and polo shirts. Please note sports jerseys, jeans and track suit bottoms are unacceptable on the golf course. Thank you for your adherence.
JOHN WHITE CARPENTRY SPONSORED WINTER LEAGUE 2022/23
This year’s winter league has now entered its 11th week. The League runs until the 10th of February 2023 so there is plenty opportunity to get in the required rounds. The format is 9 teams of 12 players with 10 rounds to be played. 6 teams out of the 9 will go through to the play offs. A huge thank you again to our sponsor John White.
CARE OF THE GREENS
To keep our greens in excellent condition we wish to make golfers mindful to please repair all pitch marks. At this time of year, even small pitch shots into the green can damage the surface. To bring extra focus on repairing these marks, greens have been assigned to each of the Gents Winter League teams as follows:
1st and 10th Green: Abbeyside
2nd and 11th Green: An Rinn
3rd and 12th Green: Ballinacourty
4th and 13th Green: Comeragh
5th and 14th Green: Cork
6th and 15th Green: Dungarvan
7th and 16th Green: Dunhill
8th and 17th Green: Nire/Tourneena
9th and 18th Green: Stradbally
Thank you for your continued co-operation.
MARKING OF CARDS
Players need to be aware that you can’t for any reason mark your own card while playing your round of golf you must give your card to your playing partner who will mark your card and you will mark his/hers until round is complete. Only then will you get your card back to enter into the computer.
SOUTHEAST JUNIOR ALLIANCE
We had a large attendance for the South East Junior Alliance on Sunday. Thank you to Alan Darcy for organizing the timesheet on the day and keeping everything running smoothly. Full results in next week’s notes.
RECIPROCAL GOLF
Members of the three local golf clubs Goldcoast, Dungarvan and West Waterford are reminded they can avail of reciprocal golf for only €15 greenfees on weekdays. This is a great opportunity to play our neighbouring courses for fantastic value. To make a booking please telephone the offices of the respective clubs.

GET WELL WISHES
Our Lady Captain Rosie and members wish to send our warmest wishes to Helena who unfortunately sustained a major fracture just before Christmas. Thankfully she is making a fantastic recovery after emergency surgery, as the first question to her surgeon was how soon she could play golf!!!
For those who have had the pleasure of playing golf with Helena will know her game is very akin to a whirlwind tearing through the course putting people half her age to shame, so watch out when she takes to the fairways again!!
Candles are lit and prayers said for a speedy recovery, hope to see you soon Helena, you are missed!!
