make a speedy recovery and come back to us fit and well, you are missed already!!!!

Lady Captain and members would like to wish DD Hannigan the very best recovery at home after her hospitalisation. It was great to see her on the course on Sunday supporting our Junior Foursomes team, won’t be long until she’s back gracing the fairways!!

We had another birthday celebration last Sunday as Karen Darcy put on a sparkling performance playing in the Foursomes match against Waterford Castle. This is our second birthday celebration during our Inter Club matches recently, it must be an omen!!!!

Karen, we hope you celebrated in style!!!!!

The Lady Captain Rosie and members wish to convey their heartfelt condolences to the family of our former member Ita White on her sad passing.

Ita was a fantastic member of our club, both on and off committee and she excelled as Lady Captain as no stone was left unturned!!

There was a great turnout of past and present officers for her Guard of Honour on Thursday morning in Kilgobinet in a fitting tribute to a wonderful lady.

Rest In Peace Ita

The 3 ball team events which will be a mix of champagne scrambles, rumbles and formats which favours many golfers will run through the summer months. Looking forward to seeing our neighbouring club ladies and fellow golfers to our open days, bookings are online or contacting Irene or Brian on 058 44055

As a mark of respect to our former Captain Ita White our outing to Mount Congreve Gardens was postponed to Thursday 8th June.

All members new and longstanding are welcome to join us, and there is no handicap limit. We play a 9 Hole singles each week with the exception of a monthly scramble which is proving very popular with everyone!!

Many thanks to Anne for continuing to organise the event with presentation of the most wonderful prizes each week!!

Our Foursomes team under the guidance of their manager Elaine who had a nail biting victory over our neighbours West Waterford recently took on Waterford Castle on Sunday 4th June in what could be described as scintillating!!

Our ladies took on a seriously strong team from Waterford Castle in a battle of wits to the end. For most part of the front 9 the opposition held the upper hand but the faith in the team from their manager Elaine was palpable!!

Our girls took off down the back 9 with a spring in their step and picked off the opposition on the 17th green to win the match!! Well done to our ladies for a marvelous win and to Waterford Castle ladies for a superb performance, they were very gracious in their defeat.

There was a large representation of supporters from our own club on the course and they are to be admired for their decorum throughout the entire match, much appreciated by manager and team. Thank you!

We wish Elaine and the team the very best of luck for the area semi-final, dates and venue TBA. All information will be posted in our What’sApp group.

A huge thank you to our wonderful team and magnificent manager Elaine for their steadfast enthusiasm and effort put into each event!!

Karen Darcy & Leanne Bumster

Ger Hallinan & Martina Corkery

Katie Kiely & Mairead Ryan

Team Manager : Elaine Nash

We would like to ask our players to please repair pitch marks on the greens, even if they are not your own!! Also please rake bunkers.

Our mixed foursomes team are limbering up to take on their next challenge after their victorious win over Clonmel GC recently. It has just been announced that they meet Tramore on their home course on Sat 10th June. Support for the team would be much appreciated on the day!!

Wishing our team members and managers John and Aisling the very best of luck for their upcoming match!!

Our Handicap secretary and committee are meeting on a regular basis to discuss the input from the ladies in accordance to their handicaps. A review will be on-going throughout the year in relation to above decision.

Golf Ireland guidelines have stated that all 3 handicaps must be recorded on cards for competition and casual

rounds for handicap purposes. To avoid disqualification you must record your h/cap index, playing h/cap and most importantly the course h/cap, all of these are available on the Golf Ireland app and also on screen when you log in for competitions. It is also important not to enter a zero for stableford competitions as it interferes with standard scratch, if you blank a hole just record the shots as the computer will adjust accordingly. All scores must be recorded by the marker and signed in agreement with the player before being returned no later than 30mins after you finish your round.

Ladies, if you had ever thought of taking up golf, now is the time to do it, our Lady Captain Rosie and any committee member would be delighted to take out potential members and showcase our beautiful course and unrivalled scenery!! There are great deals on offer for new members and beginners including tuition, please contact our Director of Golf Irene or Brian in the kiosk on 058 44055 for more information.
