PRESIDENTS PRIZE.
Our President Brian Dunbar held his prize last weekend with qualifying on Friday and Saturday last, the format was blue stakes and stableford and some great scoring was brought in on both days. The final took place bright and early on Sunday morning with a shot gun start; the course as always was in perfect condition due to the hard work of Rob and his ground keeping staff. The scoring was tight once again with some great scores recorded. Congratulations to the winner Michael Kavanagh on a great score, second was Jack Kiely a name to watch for in the future and third was David O’ Connor (see full list below).
The presentation took place in the Gold Coast Hotel where a fantastic meal was laid on, with everyone fed and watered. We had our presentation of prizes and we must compliment Brian on his array of beautiful crystal. Our Captain John White got things up and running and he spoke highly of Brian and the way he had fulfilled his role as President over the last two years. He spoke of his commitment to the club, always there to give a hand whenever needed. Brian then made his speech which went down well with all in attendance. He then presented his prize to the ladies, the winner on the day was a very popular lady namely Irene Lynch our excellent Director of Golf. Brian then presented beautiful flowers to his daughter Labhaoise. He was joined on the day by his wife Mary to whom the Men’s club presented with flowers and by one of his sons Tomas, his other son Brain is working in faraway Canada.
We as a club would like thank Brian for all his hard work over the last two years and hope he gets a chance to enjoy some relaxing golf from now on.

The WHS is an averaging system based using the best 8 of the last 20 scores on your record. To access your handicap information, you must register and create a new account at www.golfireland.ie using your eight-digit CDH number and 4-digit PIN, both of which are printed on the rear of your GUI/ILGU Member Card. You can also now download the new Golf Ireland App which will also enable you to view your own handicap index and playing record. We would urge all members to register now and familiarise themselves with the WHS system.

CONDOLENCES
On behalf of the Committee and Ladies Club, I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to our Lady Captain Anne on the recent passing of her baby granddaughter Josie Anne. To her heartbroken parents Angela and Pete and the extended Keane and Johnstone families we offer our heartfelt condolences at this very sad and difficult time. May she Rest with the Angels.
10 HOLE WINTER LEAGUE
The draw sheet for the Winter League is now posted in kiosk, please add your name if you are committed to playing at least 10 rounds and supporting your team, terms and conditions will be posted shortly!!
MARKING OF CARDS
Golf Ireland guidelines have stated that all 3 handicaps must be recorded on cards for competition and casual rounds for handicap purposes. To avoid disqualification you must record your h/cap index, playing h/cap and most importantly the course h/cap, all of these are available on the Golf Ireland app and also on screen when you log in for competitions. It is also important not to enter a zero for stableford competitions as it interferes with standard scratch, if you blank a hole just record the shots as the computer will adjust accordingly. All scores must be recorded by the marker and signed in agreement with the player before being returned no later than 30mins after you finish your round.
COVID 19
The guidelines for now are members with no restriction on households permitted per booking for social or club competitions. Meanwhile all regulations
have to be adhered to when entering and playing your round. Members please make yourselves aware of the changing guidelines in relation to golf from the government and Golf Ireland, information regarding any changes will be posted on the WhatsApp group.
