MENS CLUB AGM
Our AGM for 2023 took place last night Sunday 3rd of December attended by a large number of members. Our outgoing President Rafael got things under way. Out going Captain Michael gave a wonderful speech on how his year went. He thanked his fellow committee members and officers and all who helped make his year so special. He wished the incoming officers all the best for 2024.
COMMITTEE 2024
Captain: David (Doc) O’Connor
President: John Hallinan
Vice-Captain: Brian Dunbar
Vice President: Roy Ware
Secretary: Johnny Hughes
Treasurer: Maurice Fennell
Competition Secretary: John White
Handicap Secretary: Martin Morris
PRO: Nicholas Power
Communications Officer: Brian Fahey
Committee: Bob O’Brien, Mark Lenihan, Seamus O’Connell, Frank Mulvihill.
Ex Officio: Micheal Wall
Ex Officio: Rafael Alvarez.
At the AGM there was a change to our Constitution i.e. Article 16.4.
16.4 If after making such further enquiries as it considers necessary into the conduct of the Member and hearing such explanation, if any, as he or she may offer, the committee decides that his or her conduct has not been explained or accounted for to its satisfaction but was not such as to warrant the expulsion of the Member, the committee may instead, by simple majority, suspend the Member for a period not exceeding three months. Should a majority of the committee not be satisfied that the charges of misconduct have been proved, no further action shall be taken.
It was proposed to amend this article of the constitution at the AGM 2023 by replacing the phrase “suspend the Member for a period not exceeding three months” with “suspend the Member for a period not exceeding 12 months”.
CONGRATULATIONS MARTIN
