The World Handicap System was launched in November 2020.  Please go to the Golf Ireland website and find your handicap index.  The WHS is an averaging system based using the best 8 of the last 20 scores on your record.  To access your handicap information, you must register and create a new account at using your eight-digit CDH number and 4-digit PIN, both of which are printed on the rear of your GUI/ILGU Member Card.  You can also now download the new Golf Ireland App which will also enable you to view your own handicap index and playing record.  We would urge all members to register now and familiarise themselves with the WHS system.

The facility exists for members to sign in and input their scores at the Club for competitions through their phone on the Howdidido mobile App.  Members are encouraged to register for this service on the HowdidiIdo website.

Gold Coast Golf Club warmly welcome Societies and Green fees in accordance with Covid guidelines and we look forward to greeting you and your guests and friends.  For bookings contact Irene Lynch our Director of Golf on 05844055 or for favourable rates.

What a week of spectacular scoring again with our ladies returning high 30’s and mid 40’s in our weekend and open Tuesday competitions and our 10 Hole results are very indicative of the calibre of play at the moment!! Well done to all our ladies who are absolutely on fire!!!

The final match to be played next week between Kav & Elaine v Micheal & Angela, this will be one to watch!! Wishing them all the very best for their up-coming challenge!

Draw sheet for the event is now live online and there is also a sheet posted in kiosk for those without access to the internet, please add your name to either if you wish to play ASAP.

We wish Brian and his committee the very best of luck for a wonderful weekend of golf, craic and loads of sunshine, hopefully!!

Golf Ireland guidelines have stated that all 3 handicaps must be recorded on cards for competition and casual rounds for handicap purposes. To avoid disqualification you must record your h/cap index, playing h/cap and most importantly the course h/cap, all of these are available on the Golf Ireland app and also on screen when you log in for competitions. It is also important not to enter a zero for stableford competitions as it interferes with standard scratch, if you blank a hole just record the shots as the computer will adjust accordingly. All scores must be recorded by the marker and signed in agreement with the player before being returned no later than 30mins after you finish your round.

The guidelines for now are members with no restriction on households permitted per booking for social or club competitions. Meanwhile all regulations

have to be adhered to when entering and playing your round. Members please make yourselves aware of the changing guidelines in relation to golf from the government and Golf Ireland, information regarding any changes will be posted on the WhatsApp group.

Ladies, if you had ever thought of taking up golf, now is the time to do it, our Lady Captain Anne and any committee member would be delighted to take out potential members and showcase our beautiful course and unrivalled scenery!! There are great deals on offer for new members and beginners including free tuition, please contact our Director of Golf Irene or Brian in the kiosk on 058 44055 for more information.

The management and staff have implemented all the safety procedures to protect both staff and members who wish to play golf at the Gold Coast GC. Please keep yourself informed of new notifications within the club!
