GOLD COASTERS
We had our first golf outing to Castlemartyr Golf Resort organised by Bernie on Thursday 23rd May. The format was a Champagne scramble which we played in beautiful sunny conditions. Everybody was delighted with the weather, the course and the beautiful food available in the Clubhouse, thanks a mill Bernie for a wonderful and successful day.
We will be back to our normal Thursday after the Captain’s weekend.
SENIOR CUP
Our Senior Cup team took on Tipperary on home soil on Sunday 26th in extreme wind and heavy rain. Our girls had a great battle on their hands against a very strong Tipp team who gave nothing away. First home with a win after going down the 19th playing a 1 h/cap golfer was Aisling, Fiona won her match on the 16th and Mary K took her lady all the way to the 21st hole before succumbing to a stronger opponent.
Our girls played tremendous golf at their level in horrendous conditions and we are very proud of them, their caddies and managers Elaine and Anne!! Well done to Tipperary and we wish them well in their next leg of the tournament and we thank them for a very sporting game!!
Congratulations to our wonderful Lady Captain “Hurricane” Elaine for her on-course reporting on every hole to the final putt, Sky Sports couldn’t do it better!
INTERMEDIATE FOURSOMES
Our fabulous Intermediate team under the guidance of manager Mary K had a great win over Waterford Castle on home soil on Friday 24th with a 3/1 to home team. Our girls did their usual and kept us on our toes with nail biting chips and putts to win back holes from the clutches of our opponents
By the time our ladies got to the back nine, they were on a different level and played spectacular golf to win the accolade. Congrats and well done Mary K and her wonderful team and wishing you all the very best on the next leg of the tournament.
