JOHN MCGRATH MEMORIAL GOLF DAY
The John McGrath Memorial Golf Day will take place on Wed 13th July. It will consist of teams of four playing two rounds of golf continuously. The format will be two scores to count for the 1st round, and two x two person scramble for the 2nd round. Food will be provided on course during the two rounds and a sit down meal will be provided after the golf after which the presentation of prizes will take place. Can you please confirm to Bob O’Brien that you will have a team for the event? The cost is €40 per person and that covers golf, all food and a sizable donation to Palliative Care. The event will have a 9 am shotgun start. We have a limit of 20 teams and already we have entries for 16 teams. Subs may be used if required. Each team must contain at least one Gold Coast member.
UPCOMING COMPETITIONS
Dates for your diary, on 13th July we hold our John McGrath Memorial Charity Day and our Presidents Prize on the weekend of the 19th to 21st August 2022.
Work is continuing on the course with grass cutting around the new trees which have been planted of late. These must be cared for, so care is needed when playing your ball from near these, please check with kiosk for local rules. Also the steps on the tee boxes are being replaced to make it safe for all players, and the sign on the 9th has been replaced to bring attention to be aware of players approaching from the 9th fairway while you are teeing off on the 7th.

JUNIOR CUP
Hard luck to our Junior Cup team yesterday who had a close contest with Waterford Castle, being beaten 3/2. Well done to all the players and management for all the effort put in and best of luck to Waterford Castle in the next round.

JOHN MCGRATH MEMORIAL GOLF DAY
On Wednesday 13 July, the club will hold a 36 hole golf event in honour of our founder John McGrath. This will be a fun event, with food and refreshments in plentiful supply throughout the 36 holes. A sit down meal will be provided in the hotel with presentation of prizes to follow. The event will comprise of teams of 4 with a shotgun start at 9am, there is a limit of 20 teams to ensure the smooth running of the event. INTER CLUB JUNIOR CUP

MARKING OF CARDS
Golf Ireland guidelines have stated that all 3 handicaps must be recorded on cards for competition and casual rounds for handicap purposes. To avoid disqualification you must record your h/cap index, playing h/cap and most importantly the course h/cap, all of these are available on the Golf Ireland app and also on screen when you log in for competitions. It is also important not to enter a zero for stableford competitions as it interferes with standard scratch, if you blank a hole just record the shots as the computer will adjust accordingly. All scores must be recorded by the marker and signed in agreement with the player before being returned no later than 30mins after you finish your round.
