UPCOMING EVENTS
The last of our monthly medals will take place on Sunday 24th September and the last golfer of the year event will take place on Sunday 8th October, these are golfer of the year competitions. In the coming weeks plans will be made for our winter league for 2023/2024. The finals for our club events are coming up as well over the next few weeks.
SOUTHEAST JUNIOR ALLIANCE
This competition is returning on 1st October 2023 with the first outing in Dungarvan Golf Club. If you are interested in playing, please give Alan Darcy a ring on 0876987387 and he will give you all the details and add you to the WhatsApp group for further updates.
COMMITTEE MEETING
Our next committee meeting will be held this Wednesday 20th September 2023 at 8pm in the Bunker bar at the Hotel.
DID YOU KNOW
The average number ball marks made on greens per round is 8 per golfer. Assuming only 130 rounds are played each day on our course. Our greens receive 1040 impressions daily. 31000 per month OR MORE THAN 374,400 per year. Are you wondering how to make a putt under these conditions?
Please repair your pitch marks even if they are not yours and always, please shout fore if your ball goes in a direction that it was not intended to, for it will make the course safer for everyone.

INTRODUCTORY RATES FOR NEW MEMBERS
Here at the Goldcoast Golf Club we have fantastic Introductory rates for new members.
Our membership season runs from 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024. Our championship golf course is maintained in excellent condition offering superb playability, with 18 holes open all year round. Our pristine greens are much admired and the scenery is spectacular with unrivalled views of Dungarvan Bay, the Irish Sea and Helvick Head.
Members can relax in the comfortable surroundings of our hotel bar and restaurant where delicious food is served by our friendly staff. We can also offer very attractive packages for dual membership to both the golf club and leisure centre.
New Gents member only €500 inclusive of Golf Ireland affiliation fee.
New Gents Senior (65+) only €400 inclusive of Golf Ireland affiliation fee.
New Lady member only €400 inclusive of Golf Ireland affiliation fee.

The mixed foursomes are now heading for the final stage, and the contenders are ramping up their game to get somewhere within the winning enclosure!!

CHARITY SCRAMBLE IN AID OF SERT
Our annual charity scramble takes place on Sunday 24th Sept. and this year we are fundraising for the transport system drivers who take oncology patients to hospitals for their treatments.
We are looking forward to a great day, with good fun, golf and prizes for everyone!! Please add your name to sheet in computer room before Sat 23rd to facilitate the
organising of teams. Tee starts at 1.45pm and competition will be a 10 hole scramble, entry €5.
Please support this very worthy cause!!!
GOLD COASTERS
We had a nice turnout for our weekly game on Thursday with the weather behaving itself until we finished. The beautiful prizes this week which were sourced and presented by Anne went to the very worthy winners!!
All members new and longstanding are welcome to join us, and there is no handicap limit.
Our little group had dinner in the Moorings on Friday and it was a fabulous night out with gorgeous food, great chat and mucho vino!! Thanks to the staff for their attention to detail and great service, and to Anne for her organisational skills once again!!!!

CARE OF GREENS AND BUNKERS
We would like to ask our players to please repair pitch marks on the greens, even if they are not your own!! Also please rake bunkers, now that they are back in play.
HANDICAP COMMITTEE
Our Handicap secretary and committee are meeting on a regular basis to discuss the input from the ladies in accordance to their handicaps. A review will be on-going throughout the year in relation to above decision.
