JOHN WHITE CARPENTRY WINTER LEAGUE 2023/2024

Our Winter League kindly sponsored by John White Carpentry Services has now reached the Final stage after two exciting semi-final matches last week. Defending champions Nire/Touraneena will meet Ballinacourty in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.  The final takes place this Sunday 24th March at 10am.  Team Captains are currently finalizing their 13 man line ups and we eagerly await to see who will contest who on the day.  The first team to have seven match wins on the board will take the title and be crowned Winter league winners for 2024. Best of luck to both Captains and their teams, we look forward to an exciting finale. Presentation of team prizes and individual honours will take place in the Hotel Sunday afternoon immediately following the final.

CONDOLENCES

On behalf of our Lady Captain Elaine and members I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to DD and Ruth Hannigan and extended family members on the recent passing of their sister/aunt Peggy Ahearne (Burtchaell).

Thinking of you all at this very sad time, may Peggy Rest In Peace.

GOLD COASTERS

The group took themselves to the Metropolis of Kilmacthomas last week for a fun day out. Our first venture was walking the very scenic and historical Loop with our tour guide Margaret, which proved to be a huge hit with everyone. Many photos were taken of the historical viaduct and landscape by the river and the many local gems along the way!!

After our walk we sojourned to one of the many fine and distinguished eateries of the area for a sumptuous lunch, which was enjoyed by all. Thanks again to Anne for her organisational skills, and to our guide and photographers on the day. It was a brilliant day out.

HANDICAP COMMITTEE

Our Handicap secretary and committee will be meeting again in Feb/March 2024 for ongoing review. To date, all decisions were unanimous.

NEW MEMBER DEALS 2024

Ladies, if you had ever thought of taking up golf, now is the time to do it, our Lady Captain Elaine or any committee member would be delighted to take out potential members and showcase our beautiful course which is blessed with unrivalled mountain and coastal scenery.

There are great deals on offer for new members and beginners including tuition, please contact our Director of Golf Irene or Brian in the kiosk on 058 44055 for more information.
