It was a hard fought battle to the end with some great matches taking place but when the dust settled the Goldcoast team came out on top. They really did themselves and the club proud. We thank the Management of the team Captains Aisling Fennell and John Hallinan and the great supporters who came to cheer on the team. The next outing will be against Tramore early in June, time and date to be decided. The team was as follows: Neil Dermody/Gillian Cashman, John White/ Leanne Bumster, Alan Darcy/ Martina Corkery, Michael Kavanagh/ Karen Darcy, John Hallinan/ Geraldine Hallinan. Congratulations to you all.

FUN SCRAMBLE AND PRESENTATION
Our scramble which was scheduled for Thursday evening was postponed due to unseasonal heavy showers which were not conducive to any element of fun!!
However, the presentation of all outstanding prizes including Winter League took place in the Dugout Bar amid a large attendance. Our league sponsor, the Moorings Bar & Restaurant represented by Maria and son Tadhg did the honours of presenting the prizes.
It was a very special occasion as Maria started sponsoring us in 2013 and ongoing for the last 10 years and promised to continue as long as we can play golf. We thank you most sincerely for your continued commitment to our club, it is much appreciated!!
NEW FACEBOOK PAGE
A new Facebook page has been launched by both men’s and ladies clubs, thanks a mill to Leanne who is spearheading the ladies section. Please like and share!!

All members new and longstanding are welcome to join us, and there is no handicap limit. We play a 9 Hole singles each week with the exception of a monthly scramble which is proving very popular with everyone!!
Many thanks to Anne for continuing to organise the event with presentation of the most wonderful prizes each week!!
CARTON CUP INTER CLUB COMPETITION
The Carton Cup team under the management of Bernie were drawn against Cobh GC in the first leg of the tournament and had a great win on home course on Mon 8th May. The return game to Cobh in beautiful sunny conditions on Sat 13th May did not go to our advantage. While our ladies put on a great display, they had to succumb to a superior team. Many thanks to our players, caddies and manager Bernie for taking on the challenge!!
Congrats to Cobh GC and wishing them the very best going forward in the tournament.
Team : Mary Fennell, Aine Campbell, Rita Thompson, Brigid Coffey, Emma Fortune. Reserve : Joan O’Dea
INTER CLUB TEAMS
JUNIOR FOURSOMES
Our foursomes team who had a nail biting victory over Thurles GC take on our neighbours West Waterford in the next leg of the tournament on Sunday 21st May in the Gold Coast GC.
CARE OF GREENS AND BUNKERS
We would like to ask our players to please repair pitch marks on the greens, even if they are not your own!! Also please rake bunkers, now that they are back in play.
MIXED FOURSOMES
Our mixed foursomes team took on Clonmel GC on our home course on Sun 14th May in dry and favourable conditions after the constant drizzle that prevailed over the morning players.
Our team went out to win and left no stone unturned in fighting off a very defiant side!! All matches were fairly even for the first few holes, but soon the cream rose to the top when our side finishes 2 matches on the 15th and the final one on the 17th green amid uproar from the spectators of which there were many!!
The level of golf played by both sides was spectacular and a big thank you to the Clonmel and our own supporters for their decorum on the course at all times!
Congratulations to our team and managers John and Aisling for a brilliant result, and best wishes going forward to the next round!!
TEAM: John White & Leanne Bumster
