SOUTHEAST JUNIOR ALLIANCE
Goldcoast Golf Club hosted the Southeast Men’s Junior Alliance on Sunday. A huge turnout took to the course to play 18 holes on a beautiful, sunny, crisp morning. The players were extremely complimentary of the excellent condition of the golf course with our greenkeeping staff earning high praise and our hotel staff too for their hospitality.
A special thank you to Alan Darcy for expertly managing the timesheet on the day and Brian in the Kiosk for keeping everything running smoothly. Full results in next weeks notes.
CONDOLENCES
The Club wishes to offer their deepest condolences to the family and friends of the late Bryan Keohan whose passing occurred last week. May God have mercy on his gentle soul.
JOHN WHITE CARPENTRY SPONSORED WINTER LEAGUE 2023/24
The John White Carpentry Sponsored winter league is in full swing and now into the 12th week. Some great scores have been posted. Check it all out on the club website news page, it’s all to play for at the moment.
WINTER RULES
Eighteen holes are in play, winter rules are in operation. Placing on both fairways and rough. Please be aware of the yellow stakes around the greens to prevent damage by trollies. Please check with kiosk staff for further updates. Well done to our green keeping staff for maintaining the course in excellent condition.

THE PINS WIN WINTER LEAGUE
Our Winter League this year again very kindly sponsored by The Moorings is now completed with some great scores returned!!
Congratulations to The Pins captained by Katie Kiely, winners of the league 2023/24 with a fabulous score of 578 pts followed closely by The Bogeys captained by Gillian Cashman with a score of 562pts.
The top three teams including The Pars captained by Deirdre Ruane were in contention for many weeks leading to the final!! Well done to all who participated and kept the league running despite the inclement conditions.
SPRING LEAGUE
The teams have now been selected and the league will start on Sun 14th Jan, all details have been posted in the computer room and on our What’sApp group. We have 6 teams in total all with new members and captains and each team is named after an historical location in the county!!
The rules are as the Winter League, with a minimum of 5 games per team member and 5 scores to count per round. Entry is €20 payable on first day of play, hopefully the weather will be kinder to us for this leg of the league! Wishing all teams the very best of luck, Enjoy!!

Our Handicap secretary and committee will be meeting again in Feb/March 2024 for ongoing review. To date, all decisions were unanimous.
