On the course.
A few members have contacted me in regard to stray balls on the course with no shout been called its most important to shout fore if your ball goes in the wrong direction than which you intended for everyone’s safety .
Junior Success
We would like to congratulate junior member Rory McKeown on his second place finish in the Munster Under 13 Close Championship held in Adare last week. Rory had a great back 9 under pressure to seal his second place finish. One to watch for the future no doubt!

LADY CAPTAIN’S OUTING
Our outing this year was to Faithlegg GC on Sat 9th July where a fun scramble and delicious dinner was organised by Miriam who unfortunately could not be with us on the day. Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing you back on the fairways very soon!! Our Lady Captain Isobel and our secretary Elaine, pulled out the stops to ensure everyone had a fun and enjoyable day out. After lunch the teams took off in glorious sunshine to play an impeccable course, thanks to the ground staff!! We had an eagle on the first Par 4 when Helena’s drive stopped short of the green and Karen chipped it into the hole, a great start for team 3!! The longest drive was also on the first hole which was claimed by Katie Kiely amid shouts and clapping, nearest the pin on the 9th par 3 which is a difficult hole was claimed by Karen Darcy, a great feat!!
After a fabulous dinner, presentation of prizes took place with a prize for everyone in the audience and a raffle for a €50 voucher for Faithlegg GC which was kindly sponsored by the pro-shop and won by our Captain’s Prize winner Leanne Bumster. It was a fantastic day out, brilliantly organised by Isobel and Elaine, it was so much appreciated by everybody!!

MARKING OF CARDS
Golf Ireland guidelines have stated that all 3 handicaps must be recorded on cards for competition and casual rounds for handicap purposes. To avoid disqualification you must record your h/cap index, playing h/cap and most importantly the course h/cap, all of these are available on the Golf Ireland app and also on screen when you log in for competitions. It is also important not to enter a zero for stableford competitions as it interferes with standard scratch, if you blank a hole just record the shots as the computer will adjust accordingly. All scores must be recorded by the marker and signed in agreement with the player before being returned no later than 30mins after you finish your round.
