DONNCHADH DUNNE ELECTRICAL W.E.S. WINTER LEAGUE 2025/2026
Our Gents Winter League has entered its third week. Thanks to everyone for making a great effort so far.
Qualifying rounds continue until 22nd February 2026. Each competition is played over 18 holes, with a daily competition fee of €8 for the first 10 rounds entered and €5 for all subsequent rounds. Players can play on any day and as often as they wish during the qualifying period. To give your team the best chance of success, each player is encouraged to complete at least 10 rounds.
Thank you to everyone for taking care to record points and totals correctly on scorecards and computer — it enables us to process cards quickly and helps keep the league running smoothly.

END OF YEAR GATHERING AND PRIZEGIVING NIGHT
Captains Elaine and Brian and Presidents Mary and Roy are delighted to announce a friendly social gathering for all members at the Gold Coast Hotel on Saturday 22nd November at 6.00pm.
It will be a great opportunity for us to meet up off the golf course, catch up, and reminisce about the year gone by. We will also be announcing and presenting the year-end competition winners.
The event is free, and finger food will be provided – so save the date in your calendars!

ON THE COURSE
Please be mindful of your pace of play and keep up with the group ahead to ensure an enjoyable round for everyone. Remember the Three R’s: Rake Bunkers – Always rake the bunker after use, leaving it as you would hope to find it. Replace Divots – Replace and firmly press down any divots taken. Repair Pitch Marks – Repair your own pitch marks (and any others you see) on the greens to help keep surfaces smooth and true. Your cooperation helps maintain the course in excellent condition for all. Thank you. Winter rules are in operation, lift, clean & place on fairways and roughs (within 6 inches, not nearer the hole). All bunkers are G.U.R. Local Rule re. Abnormal Ground Conditions.

LADIES COMMITTEE
Our present committee had their end of year get together on Saturday with a fun scramble until a very heavy downpour put an end to the golf! However, we got 5 holes played and presentation of prizes took place in the hotel, the lucky winners were delighted with their winter socks!!!
Dinner and cocktails rounded off our evening with plenty of banter and laughs, it was a lovely night out and a great way to round off our year. Thanks a mill to our lady Captain Elaine, lady President Mary and fellow officers for their trojan work throughout the year and to Gillian for keeping us afloat!!
The nomination sheet is now posted in kiosk for signatures to elect the incoming committee for 2026.
GOLD COASTERS
This week, we had another great turnout in dry and mild conditions. This was an ideal opportunity to play the winter league with the competition of the day. Some great scores were returned and there was also a raffle for those not in the prizes, congratulations to the winners who were delighted with the prizes presented weekly by Anne.
WINTER LEAGUE
The winter league got off to a great start with many taking advantage of the sunny dry conditions. We are now in round 4 for the 10 Hole and 18 Hole, a great effort by many team members and some great scores returned, well done to the round winners so far.
All team members are required to play 5 rounds and the entry fee of €20 is payable on first day of play with date, name, team and 10/18 H clearly marked on envelope. Good luck to all and enjoy.
HAM COMPETITION
Our 10 Hole Ham competition started on Sat 25th Oct with the entry fee of €3, details and entry sheets in kiosk.
END OF YEAR PRESENTATION
Our Captains Brian and Elaine with our Presidents Roy and Mary are delighted to announce the end of year gathering which takes place on Sat 22 Nov @ 6pm.
