Every team member that plays can nominate a sports club or school to be in with a chance to win one of two, €1,000 euro O’Neill’s Vouchers. We also have excellent prizes in both men and ladies’ competitions. Winners in the men’s group will receive a fourball in Dromoland Castle along with overnight stay in the Inn at Dromoland. In the lady’s competition the winners will get a fourball in Ballykisteen Golf Club with an overnight stay in the Hotel. We also have prizes for Mixed Teams and for non-GI teams. Entry for 3 persons team is €25 and €10 euro for re-entry. Handicap Limit Gents 24, Ladies 36. Format One Score on Holes 1 to 12 and two scores on 13 to 18. Winners of the main prizes must have a current Golf Ireland Index. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
WINTER LEAGUE
A subcommittee, consisting of Martin Morris, Michael Wall and Johnny Hughes was assigned the task of organising the Winter League. The league section will run from Saturday October 26th, 2024 to Friday 14th February 2025. The entry cost will be €25. The Matchplay format will stay the same, in other words there will be no categorisation of handicaps when the team captains are preparing their lineup. It was recommended to the subcommittee that they ask the team captains to bring another team representative with them to the meeting of subcommittee and team captains. Team captains would be asked to stress to all their team members the importance of playing at least the minimum of 10 rounds for their team.

Congratulations to Stephen Kiely on his recent Hole in one on the 8th and to Barry Power on his albatross on the 6th a great achievement for both players. Well done again lads.

GOLD COASTERS
We had our monthly 10 Hole Scramble on Thursday with a healthy turnout and great fun as usual. There was some great golf played to secure the beautiful prizes sourced by Anne.
The winners were: Eileen Good, Breeda Murphy, Mary French 32.75.
MOYVALLEY AND CARTON HOUSE
A group of our ladies sojourned to Kildare for a week-end break to the beautiful Golf Resort of Moyvalley. Golf on Sat was played on their beautiful but tricky course in sunny and perfect golfing conditions.
Dinner with live music for atmospheric conditions was simply delicious and enjoyed by all. The management and staff were superb and have to be commended for attention to detail.
Breakfast the following morning was a delicious array of food to set us up for our journey to Carton House for the final day of the KPMG Irish Ladies Open. For many, this was the highlight of the week-end seeing Leona and Georgia in close proximity from fabulous vantage points.
Fortunately two of our ladies became television stars on the day having been grabbed on camera on the 18th green!! It was a fabulous break away and thanks to the organisers Breda V and Lady Capt. Elaine who did a magnificent job.
NEW MEMBER DEALS
Ladies, if you had ever thought of taking up golf, now is the time to do it, our Lady Captain Elaine or any committee member would be delighted to take out potential members and showcase our beautiful course which is blessed with unrivalled mountain and coastal scenery.
There are great deals on offer for new members and beginners including tuition, please contact our Director of Golf Irene or Brian in the kiosk on 058 44055 for more information.
