DONNCHADH DUNNE ELECTRICAL W.E.S. WINTER LEAGUE 2025/2026
The Gents Winter League has been very closely contested. With just two full weeks remaining the league is finely balanced with only small margins separating a number of teams and positions on the leaderboard changing regularly.
As the closing stages approach, teams are pushing hard to secure a place in the matchplay phase. The top six teams will qualify, with the top two earning automatic progression to the semi-final stage.
With so much still to play for the final weeks promise plenty of competitive golf and an exciting finish.
Qualifying rounds will continue until 22nd February 2026. Weekly scores and team progress can be viewed in the News section of the club website.
QUIZ NIGHT
As a social get together, Lady Captain Bridge and Captain Johnny will host a Fun Table Quiz in the Gold Coast Hotel on Friday February 27th at 8 O’clock for members and friends. The quiz will consist of music and sports questions. All questions will be multiple choice, ensuring that there will be no blank answer sheets (a few sample questions will be sent to the club WhatsApp group). The entry cost is €5 per person with each team consisting of three people. There will be prizes and spot prizes. The quizmaster for the evening will be Captain Johnny! Everyone welcome – members & friends
ON THE COURSE
We ask all visitors and members to please respect the fairways and greens during this wet period. Please observe all no-go areas around the greens and use varied access points across the fairways when making your way to the greens. This will help protect the course and allow it the opportunity to recover during the current inclement weather.
COMMITTEE MEETING
Our First Committee meeting of 2026 will take place on Tuesday 10th February at 8pm in the Castle room in the Gold Coast Hotel please note change of venue.
CONGRATULATIONS
We send huge Congratulations to fellow golfer Darragh Power who has signed a new contract with Bohemians Soccer Club in Dublin, having transferred from Cheltenham FC in England. We wish him all the best for the season ahead, welcome home.

GOLD COASTERS
Due to the inclement weather last Thursday there was no golf but arrangements are in place for our proposed outing to Lismore on Friday 20th Feb. Looking forward to our second outing of the year and hopefully the weather will facilitate our walk on the day!!

SPRING LEAGUE
The Spring League has started with the 18 Hole team members now gone into to Rd 2 despite the inclement conditions. Hopefully the weather will improve to get everyone out to play their required games. Well done to all who have made a tremendous effort on behalf of their teams and congrats to our Rd 1 winners!!
The entry fee will be an initial €25 for registration and the first 5 games which are a requirement from each team member. Subsequent games to better your score will be €5 per game. The league runs to Sat 28th March, please read the terms and conditions before play!! Good luck to everyone!!
CAPTAINS DRIVE-IN
Our Captains Johnny and Bridge will hold their Drive-In on Sunday 29th March with mixed scramble to follow, more details on this event to follow!
