GOLDCOAST TURNS PINK
The rain could not dampen the pink spirit at Gold Coast Golf Club on Sunday as golfers turned out in wonderful numbers to support Play in Pink the breast cancer research charity.
The day began with rain but that certainly did not deter our golfers who arrived in force and were proudly dressed in pink from early morning. Thankfully the clouds soon cleared and the sun came out making for a beautiful day at the Gold Coast and creating a magnificent sea of pink across the course.
A fantastic 40 teams took part with members and visitors coming together to support this very worthy cause. The atmosphere throughout the day was tremendous with everyone embracing the occasion and helping to make it a very special Play in Pink event.
There was some great golf along the way with prizes presented in the Ladies, Gents and Mixed categories.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the weekend, including all those who took part, donated, sponsored and helped organise the events. It was a tremendous success and special thank you to Cairde credit Union and Comserv for their sponsorship.

PINK QUIZ
What a super Pink Quiz night we had last Friday night in the Gold Coast Hotel. A huge thank you to our quiz master Bob who kept us entertained from start to finish. It was an action-packed evening of music, fun and plenty of laughter. Our knowledge was put to the test, but so too were our dancing skills, our singing voices and our general ability to let our hair down. But, of course, the most important part of the evening was the fantastic amount we raised for Play in Pink and breast cancer research. €2,400 was raised on the night. This wonderful total came from the quiz, our raffle, and the fantastic spot prizes and raffle prizes so generously donated by our members, friends and other kind benefactors.
A heartfelt thank you to every single person who contributed, whether by attending, donating a prize, buying raffle tickets, taking part in the quiz or simply helping to create such a wonderful atmosphere.
The winners of the quiz were:
Donal and Marcella McGovern and Eamon and Bernie Meagher winning €50 Dawn meat vouchers each. A very special thank you to Maire in the Gold Coast Hotel, Micheal Wall, Tim O’Driscoll, Bob O’Brien and John and Martina on very generous sponsorship. Thank you all for making it such a memorable and enjoyable night.
