DONNCHADH DUNNE ELECTRICAL W.E.S. WINTER LEAGUE 2025/2026
Our Gents Winter League is up and running and qualifying rounds run until 22nd February 2026. This year there are 9 teams, each consisting of 13 players. The teams are Abbeyside, An Rinn, Ballinacourty, Dungarvan, Dunhill, Nire/Touraneena, Stradbally, Western Allies and the Northern Alliance. Entry fee of €25, to be paid before playing your first round. Competitions are over 18 holes, daily competition fee is €8 for the first 10 rounds entered, and €5 for all additional rounds.
Players can play on any day and as many times as they like during the qualifying period. To ensure your team’s success, each player is encouraged to complete a minimum of 10 rounds. END OF YEAR GATHERING AND PRIZEGIVING NIGHT
Captains Elaine and Brian and Presidents Mary and Roy are delighted to announce a friendly social gathering for all members at the Gold Coast Hotel on Saturday 22nd November at 6.00pm.
It will be a great opportunity for us to meet up off the golf course, catch up, and reminisce about the year gone by. We will also be announcing and presenting the year-end competition winners.
The event is free, and finger food will be provided – so save the date in your calendars!

ON THE COURSE
Please be mindful of your pace of play and keep up with the group ahead to ensure an enjoyable round for everyone. Remember the Three R’s: Rake Bunkers – Always rake the bunker after use, leaving it as you would hope to find it. Replace Divots – Replace and firmly press down any divots taken. Repair Pitch Marks – Repair your own pitch marks (and any others you see) on the greens to help keep surfaces smooth and true. Your cooperation helps maintain the course in excellent condition for all. Thank you. Winter rules are in operation, lift, clean & place on fairways and roughs (within 6 inches, not nearer the hole). All bunkers are G.U.R. Local Rule re. Abnormal Ground Conditions.

This week, we had a small turnout in initially perfect sunny conditions. All was going very smoothly until a sudden hail shower forced us to abandon the game. However, we adopted the positive that we got 7 holes of golf played!! Scoring was very tight and congratulations to the winners who were delighted with their prizes!!
WINTER LEAGUE
The winter league got off to a great start on Sat with a sizeable number of ladies taking to the fairways. The weather was perfect and the greens were in superb condition. All team members are required to play 5 rounds and the entry fee of €20 is payable on first day of play with date, name, team and 10/18 H clearly marked on envelope. Good luck to all and enjoy!!
HAM COMPETITION
Our 10 Hole Ham competition started on Sat 25th Oct with the entry fee of €3, details and entry sheets in kiosk.
END OF YEAR PRESENTATION
Our Captains Brian and Elaine with our Presidents Roy and Mary are delighted to announce the end of year gathering which takes place on Sat 22 Nov @ 6pm.
