GOLD COASTERS
Our little group met for our inaugural putting competition on Thursday due to the ferocious winds and no golf. The competition devised by Anne turned out to be fantastic fun over several holes on the putting green.
After a slow start the competition started to heat up, with putts being holed out in one. After several rounds on various holes the points calculated resulted in a playoff, this was when the fun really started. The atmosphere was electric as Margaret and Alice were now in the playoff, 3 putts each which resulted in all square. Now, we were down to sudden death and after very close putts by both contenders, Margaret took the honours.
Well done to all who took part and congrats to the winner and runner-up for a thrilling climax, mind you we are very easy to please!
After the excitement of the play-off, we went for lunch and a beautiful cake to celebrate Mary’s special birthday which was enjoyed by all! It turned out to be a great day despite the weather which hampered our golf but made us think outside the box.
Meeting next Thursday as normal to discuss our social calendar of events, input and suggestions from our members would be greatly appreciated. We would like to see as many as possible on the day, we don’t anticipate any golf due to forecast.
