JOHN McGRATH MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC
This year’s John McGrath Memorial Golf Classic in aid of Dungarvan Community Hospital will take place from Monday 31st August to Sunday 6th September.
There’s plenty of time to get your team together, the competition will be a 3-Ball Champagne Scramble with two scores to count on all holes. The maximum handicap is 24 for men and 36 for ladies.
Prizes will be presented in the Men’s, Ladies’, Mixed and Non-Golf Ireland categories.
Entry is €90 per team for members and €150 per team for visitors.

Please remember the Three R’s when playing:
Rake bunkers – Always rake the bunker after use, leaving it as you would like to find it.
Replace divots – Replace and firmly press down any divots you take.
Repair pitch marks – Repair your own pitch marks, and any others you notice, to help keep our greens in excellent condition.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and helps maintain the course for everyone’s enjoyment.

PAST AND PRESENT CAPTAINS AND PRESIDENTS
Many of our ladies took to the fairways of Dungarvan GC on Sunday to play in the annual open event sponsored by Betty O’Brien which is now in its 31st year! A full timesheet was in operation for this very popular competition which was run very efficiently by the ladies’ club.
We were warmly welcomed by Lady Captain Carmel and Lady Vice Captain Cathy who were fine tuning the event. The weather was perfect and the course in magnificent condition which made the game very enjoyable. Presentation of prizes took place in the clubhouse amid loud chatter, laughter and great food, thanks to all involved in making it another memorable day in Dungarvan!!!
GOLD COASTERS
Our second scramble of the month over 9 holes was a great success with a large turnout in fabulous sunny conditions. It was a fun event with everybody enjoying the format and the weather. As usual, Anne had sourced some beautiful prizes for the lucky recipients. The winners on the day were: Angela O’Connor, Siobhan McCarthy and Marie Hayes 38.5 Raffle: Loraine Birney and Breda Conway
LADY CAPTAIN’S OUTING
Our Lady Capt. Bridge is returning to home soil and hopefully bringing all the Gold Coast ladies with her for what will definitely be a wonderful day out!!
The venue is Cahir Park GC on Saturday 29th August with tea/coffee scones, golf and dinner, first tee at 1.30pm. The sheet is now posted in kiosk, so please add your name for a promised fun day out!!!

MUSIC TABLE QUIZ
A music table quiz will be held on Friday 25th Sept at 8pm in the Gold Coast Hotel in aid of Breast Cancer Research Ireland which will be a prelude to our Play In Pink Day on Sunday. Our quizmaster for the evening will be the ever-popular Bob O’Brien which assures a fun filled event of music and song!! More details to follow.
