We took to fairways here at the Gold Coast on Saturday in the Quarter finals of this competition against Faithlegg Golf Club our team put up a gallant display of Golf in the end it had to go to extra holes to find the winners.  As the drama unfolded Faithlegg clinched the match on the 21st hole. We wish them well in the next round. Our Carton cup team under the management of Breda and Anne are awaiting the date for their next leg of the tournament. To date, they have excelled themselves in going to playoffs on each occasion and clinching a win for the home team. Well done girls!!!

Our girls are now through to the Regional semi-final which will be played in Cork GC on Sat 13th July. Our team consists of Irene/Mary K, Aisling/Rosie, Fiona/Karen and subs Esther/Miriam.

They will be meeting the winners of Macroom v Mallow and we wish them and their managers Bridge and Alice the very best of luck on the day!! Updates will be posted on our What’sApp group and in these notes nearer the date. Any support on the day will be greatly appreciated!!

Our Intermediate team fought a great battle in Lismore against a home side, but sadly succumbed to the home team. Our girls did us proud and played brilliant golf to secure a 2/2 resulting in a playoff!!

First home was Mairead/Leanne winning their match on the 16th and Martina/Gillian winning on the 18th. Mairead/Leanne were nominated for the playoff, but were unfortunate to find the greenside bunker which cost them the hole.

However, it was tremendous and nail biting golf from our girls to bring them to the playoff stage.  Congrats to all and especially Mary K and all the supporters who came to cheer on the side.

Wishing the Lismore team the very best of luck in the next leg and thank you for a very sporting and friendly game.

Our team under the management of John H and Aisling took on Faithlegg on home turf on Saturday and fought a magnificent battle against a very formidable opposition.

The golf was spectacular from both sides and ended in a 2/2 which ensued a playoff to the 21st hole. John W/Ger were the nominated pairing for the playoff against a very strong Faithlegg couple who played textbook golf to secure the win!

We are very proud of our team who have played Ryder Cup golf throughout the tournament and kept us captivated with riveting and nail biting moments which will be remembered forever.

Congratulations John, Aisling and your wonderful team who kept us entertained for many months, well done everybody!!! Wishing Faithlegg the very best in the next leg of the tournament and thank you all for a very sporting and friendly game.

We held our monthly scramble on Thursday with a healthy attendance and perfect weather for the game. The course was in immaculate condition and with summer rules in play the results were very tight.

This year we have entered the Silver and Bronze Medal Competition. The h/cap categories for each are as follows: Silver – h/cap index up to and including 20.0, Bronze – h/cap index of 20.1 and higher. The club winner for each will be the player who returns the lowest aggregate of 3 net scores in stroke competitions in both Silver and Bronze categories from the 1st April to 31st July.

Both winners will represent the club in the Regional Final in W/Waterford and subsequently onto Final!!

Ladies, if you had ever thought of taking up golf, now is the time to do it, our Lady Captain Elaine or any committee member would be delighted to take out potential members and showcase our beautiful course which is blessed with unrivalled mountain and coastal scenery!!  There are great deals on offer for new members and beginners including tuition, please contact our Director of Golf Irene or Brian in the kiosk on 058 44055 for more information.
