WESTGATE WINDOWS & DOORS SPONSORED GENTS WINTER LEAGUE 2024/25 Our Gents Winter League has now entered its 17th week. Thanks to everyone for making a great effort so far. Competitions are over 18 holes, daily competition fee is €8 for the first 10 rounds entered, and €5 for all additional rounds. Players can play on any day and as many times as they like during the qualifying period. To ensure your team’s success, each player is encouraged to complete a minimum of 10 rounds.
The top 10 scores from 9 players on each team will count towards the team’s overall standing. The league has been extended by two weeks until Friday 28th February. To follow your teams progress, scores can be viewed weekly on the club website news section.
As the league nears its conclusion, the battle at the top of the table is intensifying, with positions shifting daily. The race to crown the league winners and secure matchplay playoff spots is well and truly on!
CAPTAINS DRIVE-IN
Our Captains, Brian Dunbar and Elaine Nash will start off the golf season at the Gold Coast with their Drive-In on Sunday March 16th.
The event will be followed by a fun scramble and finger food at the Hotel. Full details to follow in the coming weeks. We encourage all members to come along, show their support, and enjoy a great day on and off the course!

CARE OF THE GREENS
To maintain the quality of our greens throughout the winter, each winter league team has been assigned with responsibility for two greens. Teams are expected to repair all pitch marks on their designated greens and everyone’s cooperation will ensure the course remains in excellent condition for all players.

Our little group met for lunch on Thursday due to the ferocious winds and no golf! The chat covered many issues prevailing the US, Europe and of course Ireland! Somehow golf is never mentioned at our group chats, as more interesting topics are discussed.
