DONNCHADH DUNNE ELECTRICAL W.E.S. WINTER LEAGUE 2025/2026
The Gents Winter League has been very closely contested. With just one week remaining the league is finely balanced with only small margins separating a number of teams and positions on the leaderboard changing regularly. In the closing stage, teams are pushing hard to secure a place in the matchplay phase. The top six teams will qualify, with the top two earning automatic progression to the semi-final stage. The final week promises plenty of competitive golf and an exciting finish. Qualifying rounds continue until 22nd February 2026. Weekly scores and team progress can be viewed in the News section of the club website.
QUIZ NIGHT
As a social get together, Captain Johnny and Lady Captain Bridge will host a Fun Table Quiz in the Gold Coast Hotel on Friday February 27th at 8 O’clock for members and friends. The quiz will consist of music and sports questions. All questions will be multiple choice, ensuring that there will be no blank answer sheets (a few sample questions will be sent to the club WhatsApp group). The entry cost is €5 per person with each team consisting of three people. There will be prizes and spot prizes. The quizmaster for the evening will be Captain Johnny! Everyone welcome – members & friends
ON THE COURSE
We ask all visitors and members to please respect the fairways and greens at all times. Please observe all no-go areas around the greens and use varied access points across the fairways when making your way to the greens. This will help protect the course and allow it the opportunity to recover during periods of inclement weather.
INTER CLUB CAPTAINS AND SELECTORS
The Fixtures Committee will hold a meeting with inter club team Captains and selectors on Tuesday 24th February at 7.30pm in the Castle room In the Gold Coast Hotel.

FUN TABLE QUIZ

GOLD COASTERS
Due to the inclement weather last Thursday there was no golf but hopefully we may get to play next week, weather permitting. All arrangements are in place for our proposed outing to Lismore on Friday 20th Feb. Looking
forward to our second outing of the year and hopefully the weather will facilitate our walk on the day!!
A list of our proposed outings for the season are now posted on our WhatsApp group, there may be a few tweaks to the scheduled list but it’s an indicator of what’s on offer!!

SPRING LEAGUE SPONSORED BY COMSERV
Our Spring League kindly sponsored by our member Rosie Murphy of Comserv Pest Control Services has started with all team members now gone into to Rd 2 despite the inclement conditions. Hopefully the weather will improve to get everyone out to play their required games. Well done to all who have made a tremendous effort on behalf of their teams and congrats to our Rd 1 winners!!
The entry fee will be an initial €25 for registration and the first 5 games which are a requirement from each team member. Subsequent games to better your score will be €5 per game.
