CPC Bunmahon Winter League

Finally we have arrived at a result. After four and half months, with the weather proving our biggest enemy, we are now finally down to the semi-finals. The four teams through are Dunhill, Dungarvan, Cork and Deise and the semi-final line up is as follows: Dunhill play Deise and Dungarvan play Cork.

For the match-play section players play off their current handicap i.e. winter league handicap. All matches must be played until a winner comes forward. Matches will be played from the tee in operation on the day and all bunkers will be in play.

For the Dunhill v Deise match players must have their match played by Saturday next with the final tee off time at 10.22 a.m. The second semi-final between Dungarvan and Cork finishes on Sunday with the final tee off time at 11.30 a.m. Any match can by agreement be played during the week.

Winter League Individual winners:

John White was the individual winner with 256 pts, Willie Flavin was second with 252 pts, Eugene Collins was third with 251 pts, Tom Landers was fourth with 248 pts and Liam Clancy was fifth on 246 pts. Liam beat Dave Scannell on a count-back. Micheal White just pipped David O’Connor for the gross

 

 

Getting to know you Offer:

At the moment the Gold Coast is in as good a condition as it has ever been and the greens are the subject of huge comment from one and all.

In line with this and the need to let people see for themselves we have come up with a very attractive offer. Play the Gold Coast on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, Golf & Carvery lunch for €20 and get a second round with Carvery Lunch at a later date for just €15, on a Monday, Wednesday or Thursday (Bank Holidays excluded). This offer is only open to the first 1,000 players.

Doc hits five birdies and an eagle:

Playing fourteen holes on Sunday David O’Connor played the best golf of his life and finished his round with five birdies and an eagle in the fourteen hole competition. Birdies on the 3rd, 4th, 11th, 13th, and 18th and an eagle on the 6th was great golf and we congratulate him on a wonderful round of golf.

Staked Trees:

All trees will be in play as and from Sunday 28th March when the season gets underway with the Gold Coast Cup. There will no longer be any relief and balls will have to be played as they lie or moved under penalty. Any trees that need protection will be marked off with a line all around them.

 

Deise Opens

The Deise Open is in West Waterford Golf Club this week and you can play anytime from Monday to Sunday 7th March  

 

South East League

This year we are drawn in Group B. This group includes West Waterford, Gold Coast, Mitchelstown and Dungarvan. On Sunday 14th March we play West Waterford at the Gold Coast at 11.30 a.m. The following Sunday, 21st March we play Dungarvan at West Waterford, on Saturday 27th March we play Mitchelstown at Dungarvan and on the 11th April we play Mitchelstown in Mitchelstown. The team selectors are currently putting together their panels for these matches and they will be in touch with the players concerned in the next few weeks.

 

Ladies Notes:

Kirwan Electrical Winter League Results:

After 9 weeks of wind, rain, frost and some sun shine, the winter league has ended with two teams fighting for the top spot.

Helena and Esther were on the phone to their team members encouraging each one to play and play well.
